Oh Canada

I went up to Vancouver and Victoria, British Columbia for the long weekend but unfortunately it was a bust. We left friday night after work and didn't get up there until late. By then we were exhausted and every hotel ended up being booked so we spent way too much to get a room. The next day we went to this Capalino suspension bridge and rope course which ended up being a total rip off. The bridge was cool and all but the rope course was lame and it cost way too much money. That night we met up with a girl who works for the same company as Tricia for dinner/drinks. Well every restraunt seemed to be booked all night and finally after the 5th place we settled on fish and chips (so not my thing). Finally after a walk through the wrong part of town (I was actually a little scared and coming from LA I have been in some bad areas) we finally made it to a club. Well the club sucked!! Everyone there was hardly 19 and drinks were $11!!! I really wanted to go to another place but the other girls didn't want to pay cover again so there we stayed. Sunday we headed over to Victoria. Everyone had told us that everything is within walking distance from the ferry stop so we didn't bring our car. Well we get off the ferry and decide to grab a cab instead of walking. We ask the cab driver about how much it will be and he says $60-70! Turns out to ferry from port angeles (which is washington) docks right in victoria but the ferry from vancouver docks in swartz bay at the other end of the island! After our $80 cab ride we check into where we were staying an it was a total dump so we went and walked around the town a little and found a pub to hid out in until we absolutly had to go back to our dumpy room. By then our trip was so bad that we got up and grabbed a bus at 10 the next morning instead of exploring the town a little more. All in all the trip was a bust but at least now I can say I've been there, right? I will upload some pics once I get a chance to.

Like you said, at least you can say you've been there... and most likely won't be going back.

Sorry you had a crappy trip. I've heard the opposite about vancouver so it is still on my list of places to go but I'll have to keep your experience in mind! :)

Ooh, that stinks, but in like 10 years you'll laugh about it.
