Oh Canada

I went up to Vancouver and Victoria, British Columbia for the long weekend but unfortunately it was a bust. We left friday night after work and didn't get up there until late. By then we were exhausted and every hotel ended up being booked so we spent way too much to get a room. The next day we went to this Capalino suspension bridge and rope course which ended up being a total rip off. The bridge was cool and all but the rope course was lame and it cost way too much money. That night we met up with a girl who works for the same company as Tricia for dinner/drinks. Well every restraunt seemed to be booked all night and finally after the 5th place we settled on fish and chips (so not my thing). Finally after a walk through the wrong part of town (I was actually a little scared and coming from LA I have been in some bad areas) we finally made it to a club. Well the club sucked!! Everyone there was hardly 19 and drinks were $11!!! I really wanted to go to another place but the other girls didn't want to pay cover again so there we stayed. Sunday we headed over to Victoria. Everyone had told us that everything is within walking distance from the ferry stop so we didn't bring our car. Well we get off the ferry and decide to grab a cab instead of walking. We ask the cab driver about how much it will be and he says $60-70! Turns out to ferry from port angeles (which is washington) docks right in victoria but the ferry from vancouver docks in swartz bay at the other end of the island! After our $80 cab ride we check into where we were staying an it was a total dump so we went and walked around the town a little and found a pub to hid out in until we absolutly had to go back to our dumpy room. By then our trip was so bad that we got up and grabbed a bus at 10 the next morning instead of exploring the town a little more. All in all the trip was a bust but at least now I can say I've been there, right? I will upload some pics once I get a chance to.

A week in review

My week was a little calmer than most. I stayed home friday night and then saturday I brought my date Dana to a Mariner's game. It was fun, our seats were pretty good and even better being that they were free. :)

Afterwards we met up with my friend Tricia and the guy she is dating who was in town from Chicago. We went to this little Irish pub called Fado and just sat around and talked.

This week is going to extra busy for me. Tomorrow I have to be at a meeting in Puyallup by 7:30 so that means I have to get up extra early. Wednesday I have a dinner after work for a girl that is leaving. Thursday I am supposed to go to this piano bar with some friends. And then friday I leave for vancouver with Tricia for the long weekend. I am sure to be exhausted by next tuesday.

Well here are a few more pics for your viewing pleasure.

Garbage

The girl who lives across the landing from me has this problem with taking her trash to the dumpster, she takes it and sets it on our landing and leaves it there for at least a week (both Amy and Dana can vouch for this fact). Yes, our dumpsters are a bit of a hike but it has been gorgeous out plus she must not work since her car is always there so come on! It drives me nuts! It smells and it's just gross. So I normally kick it over so it directly blocks her door but she must just step over it. When Amy was here Rob put a very large board on her door thinking she would get the hint but no such luck. Well this last week she had 2 bags sitting out there for over a week and it looks as though an animal got into it and there was crumbs and stuff all over the landing. Think she could sweep them up? Of course not! So being the 2 year old that I am I just swept them all right in front of her door. I want to complain to management but she will know it's me since we are the only 2 on this level. And she knows where I live and what car I drive. It's just so gross and it's driving me crazy! I mean how lazy can you be?!

Enough of that though. This weekend I laid low since I didn't get home before 10 a single night last week. It was so nice not to do anything for a change! I finally got my new furniture and it looks very nice. It does consume my entire room but whatever. Then I got free tickets to the Mariner's game for next weekend so Dana is going to be my date. Other than that it is pretty much the same old same old.

yay!

I finally broke down and bought myself a bedroom set. After dragging Dana around to several stores so that I could have a second opinion I finally decided on this one (sorry not the best picture but you get the idea):

Hopefully it won't consume my entire room but at least I will finally have a place to store some of my clothes since currently I have no dresser and my closet shelves are exploding!

Other than that life has been pretty boring. Have been working at least 45 hrs a week and am considering upping it a little to pay for my hefty purchase...nah I think I may go crazy working 5 10s. :) Especially since my weekends seem to be consumed with chores, errands, and fun and my couch is starting to feel very lonely.

I finally have health insurance again. Yay! So now I have to do all those fun things that I have been putting off. In fact I have a fun filled doctor appointment tomorrow. :( It kinda sucks working the hours I do since it seems virtually impossible to get an appointment on mondays and then my boss gives me a hard time for taking time off for appointments. Oh well, that's why I have sick time, right? My patients tomorrow morning will just have to deal with having their appointments moved. Now I just need to find time for the dentist and eye doctor since it has been several years since I have been. Yikes!

Well that is all for now. Later dudes! :)
