Made It

Just wanted to let everyone know that I made it to WA ok. The drive was long and boring but at least the weather wasn't too bad, I hit a little snow and lots of rain but nothing I couldn't handle. I did decide that Oregon is just messed up. People all drive UNDER the speed limit, who does that??? And they fill up your gas for you. This felt so odd to me being that I have never had anyone do it for me. Good thing Amy warned me otherwise I would have looked like I retard cuz I would have gotten out and done it myself.

Unfortunately my stuff will not make it until next Saturday. :( So I currently have an air matress and some paper plates for the next week. WA made sure to stay true to it's name and was cold and rainy all weekend...wants to break me in quickly I guess. :) HUGE change from the nice warm and sunny SoCal but better than MN I suppose.

I have a home!

For some ungodly reason it is almost 1 in the morn and I can not sleep for the life of me. Anyhow, I managed to find a place to live this weekend. Woohoo, I won't have to live out of my car. I was getting worried for awhile since I had looked at at least a dozen places and none really struck me. One place was nice and new but in a kinda shady neighboorhood. I was looking online and I had Amy looking trying to find more place to look at. Finally I found one in University Place. It's a little small, a little more expensive, and I'll have a little longer commute but at least it seems to be a safe area and it's not trashy. I move up next thursday so I have to get my butt in gear the next few days and get some packing done.

On another note...why is it that people from tech, and hibbing for that matter, think that it's ok to get super wasted every now and then but people from other places just can't beleive someone would get that drunk? Now I know every one of you from tech has been fall over drunk at times (in fact I can think of many occassions where it is actually encouraged :) ) and it's no big deal. But when my friends from elsewhere see someone like that they just can't get over it? Sorry I'm just pondering this idea of it being ok to drink like a fish at times to me but it not being ok to other people....

***Just as a disclaimer (parents and grandparents read this thing and I don't need them thinking I'm an alchi,LOL!) I wasn't talking about myself. Just in general, I see people fall over drunk and don't think much of it being from tech and that's how it was there. But my friends see people like that and think it's ridiculous and won't stop talking about how drunk that person was and how they can't believe it. For instance, this weekend one of my friend's friends got super wasted and she wouldn't leave her alone the next few days but I thought it was amusing and said, hey it happens to the best of us. :)

RRRRIIIIIIIIPPPPP!!!!!

Funny story...
This afternoon I am walking to my desk and my 14 y.o. patient looks at me funny, I ask what and she nods towards my aide, Mark. I look over and Mark is sitting with a blanket wrapped around his waist. He just says "Yes, I am wearing a skirt" and then under his breath mumbles to me that he'll tell me later. Once our patient leaves he goes on to tell me that he bent down to pick up a ball and heard a rip and totally split his pants. It was HUGE! Like halfway down the leg. LOL! Funny thing is his car is getting fixed so his wife had dropped him off at work so I offered to let him take my car home to get new pants. Problem is is that he didn't bring his house keys with. So being to wonderful boss that I am I tell him he can put on a pair of shorts that we have (rules say no shorts but I figure I could make the exception for this). Next problem is that all of our shorts are like 1 size fits no one even with hanging them low he still had to hike up is boxers so they didn't hang out. So needless to say Mark was one sexy man all afternoon. :)

Ok not that funny of a story but it had my secretary and I laughing so hard we were both crying. :) Here is a pic of Mark in his oh so sexy shorts. LOL!

82 and Sunny

In reading all your blogs I see that it's a wee bit nippy in the great midwest. Not to rub it in or anything but it is currently 82 and sunny here! Hahaha! Sorry I just had to do it. :)

Not much is new here, I seem to lead a rather boring life lately. I spent the weekend on my couch with no motivation to do anything...And I did just that. I should really get to packing, or at least scrounge up some boxes, but it seems the more I have to do the less motivated I am. :( I head up to Seattle the 15th to find an apartment and I think until I actually have a place to live I won't get much done packing wise. Yes, I am the world's greatest procrastintor!

I think I may go sit at the beach for a little bit and enjoy my last few weeks of sunshine :)
