No fun

Yesterday was not a fun day. I woke up puking and proceeded to do so several times. Let me tell you, puking with a bunch of incisions in your tummy is not fun, each heave feels like the stitches are ripping out. Luckily I got some anti-nausea meds and new painkillers which helped. Today I feel worlds better, was even able to get through the night without getting up to take more pain meds. I'm hoping to venture out into the world today, my couch is starting to bore me, but we will see how that goes. I get to take to dressings off today too but am a little scared to see what these holes really look like...

Surgery

I had my surgery yesterday. Things went well, I even got to come home the same day. There was some talk about making me stay because of my bleeding and I was breaking out in welts and itching really bad, they we worried I was having an allergic reaction to one of the drugs. Now I have 4 little incisions in my belly. I am also pretty sore, swollen, and bruised but I have some good pain killers which help some. Hope the swelling goes down soon or I am sure going to look funny in a bikini at the end of the month. lol. My mom is here until sunday and I am going to attempt to go back to work next thursday for 8hrs instead of my normal 10. Luckily i talked to the owner of the company who was very understanding and is going to let me go in the negative with my vacation time, I'm glad I went straight to him. Anyhow, I'll keep you all updated, should have plenty of time since I can't really move yet.

Weekend

This weekend was pretty low key. Friday we met up with a couple of craig's friends for dinner down in Olympia. Saturday we went mini golfing, ran some errands, had a bit of a scavenger hunt to get me some drugs, and then had Dana over for a mini BBQ. Even completed it with being white trash and making smores over the stove. :) Sunday Craig and I went up to Seattle and walked around Pike's market and on the waterfront and just hung out a bit. Today I'm being forced to clean and grocery shop. :(

In other fun news my mom is coming to town tomorrow because my gallbladder is rejecting me and I'm having surgery on wednesday. It's nice now that she is teaching and able to come out to take care of me. I'm a little frustrated with it all since I ended up in the ER may 2 for this and have been getting the run around for 3 weeks since I "don't fit the typical demongraphics for gallstones..." Even though I've had tests that have shown it's my gallbladder. Then work is being a pain in my ass with sick/vacation time. We gradually accrue it and since my year starts in March I currently have very little time built up. They're telling me I have to take unpaid time off, kinda hard to afford when I'm having all these medical expenses and it's not like it's an elective surgery. They won't let me go into the negative either. It's getting pretty frustrating. I'm going to try to talk to then owner tomorrow and hopefully he'll work with me and we'll figure something out. If not I might be looking for a new job a little sooner than expected.

Spill it

So I guess it's time I spill it. The flowers and the person who's been occupying my time is a great guy named Craig. I haven't said anything about him for fear of jinxing it. :) We've been dating for a little over 3 months now and things are going great! I actually met him at a bar (not exactly where I like to meet guys but this time it worked I guess). He's 32, never married/no kids, investigates insurance fraud, grew up in southern WA (yes I have met his family several times now), and is a really really good guy. Not sure what more to say about it. I guess here's a picture of us, don't mind the dorkiness we took it with the self-timer in our hotel in Portland but I have no others to offer. :)

Suprise

Quickie

I'm at work so this will have to be quick but it's been so long I want to post something. I've been busy, working extra as usual. A couple weeks ago I went down to Portland for the weekend. Our hotel was right downtown so we were able to walk everywhere. Did a little shopping (no sales tax) but I was unable to find anything other than a couple pairs of shoes, went out to a nice dinner and then to a couple bars. The weather was GOURGEOUS!!! Last weekend I met up with a coworker and her husband in an area of west Seattle known as Alki beach. It reminded me of the strips in So-Cal (other than it was about 30 degrees cooler, lol). We went to a fantastic pizza place, best pizza I've had in a long time. Afterwards I ventured up to Seattle to an Irish bar that I like. No big plans for this weekend, my friend Cori is having a party that I should attend. Next weekend I have a 4 day weekend and am planning on going down to Bend, OR and Mt. Bachelor for a little skiing. We will see how that goes considering I havent skiied in at least 10 years!

My week days are filled with work as usual. I've been trying to be better about going to the gym but so far it's not working all that well. Next week I get to start working7-6 tuesday and thursday so hopefully that will help my gym efforts. It's going to be hard to get up so early that's for sure! But it will be nice getting home before 7:30 like I do now. We have playoffs for darts coming up. This is bad but I'm hoping that we don't make it to state because it's the day that I have tickets for the Mariner's game. Well my patient is here so I am off.
