I am alive

Yes, I am alive. I have just been really busy with not many exciting postable things. I did, however, go down to Oregon to visit my aunt and uncle this past weekend. I haven't seen seen them since '03 when they were in MN so it was nice to see them. I got there friday evening so we just had dinner and then played cards. My uncle likes to tell stories so he told me lots about my dad growing up and what a brat he was and about my grandparents who I never really knew. Saturday we went for a drive along the Rouge river and saw lots of people rafting and fishing and stuff. Sunday we went to Crater lake which was very pretty. Unfortunately it was a little overcast so we didn't get the full wonder of the lake but it was still nice to see. I would like to go back and do some of the hiking around there that I didn't get to do since my aunt and uncle are getting pretty old. Their son came along and it was the first time I've met him since all my cousins are so much older than me. It was interesting. Lol.

Here are a few pics. The first is an area on the Rouge river that is referred to as the gorge.

The next few are of Crater lake.

Lots O' Fun

This past week was a crazy week for me and I feel like I didn't sit or sleep at all! Tuesday I went to a Mariner's game with Dana and Tricia. It was a nice night out and a close game which always makes for fun. Plus we enjoyed massive amounts of chili fries/dogs, garlic fries, $10 pops, and some complimentry peanuts. ;) Wednesday I got to try out my handiman skills and assemble my new grill, I have not yet attempted to light it and am a little concerned with blowing up my apartment. :/ Any takers?! haha. Thursday Dana and I along with Tricia went to mine and Dana's usual thursday night hangout. Unfortunately it was a weird night there and it seemed as though there was a full moon or something, every weirdo in the town was out. In the first 5 minutes there we had a guy with all white hair argue with me about what a huge metro area tacoma is, Please! Then Dana had a guy talking to her about something, she mentioned that she was married, he said so was he but he was there with his sister so it was ok?! Who knows! Friday I was really hoping for a date with my couch but we got a call saying that all the army boys were getting together, I mean how could we miss that?! So we headed down to Olympia for a fun-filled night that it seems only the females remember. LOL! Saturday was my friend Tricia's going away party at the Cheesecake factory in Seattle. Unfortunately since we had a group of 17 it took FOREVER! I had offered to get there early since they dont take reservations so I got there 1 hr beofre everyone else but it still took us 2.5 hours to get seated! By the time dinner was over knowing that I had a 45 minute drive I just couldn't get myself to go to the bar with everyone, my bed was calling my name due to my lack of sleep all week. Finally on sunday Dana and I went to a friend's BBQ to say goodbye to the guys who are deploying. It was a good time as always.

Hopefully this week will be a little calmer but with the 4th in there it is doubtful. Anyhow, I hope you all have a exciting and safe 4th! Oh yes, Amy is alive and finally getting some fire activity. They were at the fire in Tahoe all last week and are now at a fire in the Santa Barbara area.
