Weee're baaaack

We got back from europe late saturday. It was a good trip, lots of fun. Amazing the history, art, and architecture. We got lucky and had pretty good weather other than the last 3-4 days. No big issues other than our luggage didn't make it back here until the next day but that is no biggie. I can say I don't want to eat pasta or pizza for quite some time as that is all I ate for 3 weeks (along with an occassional ham or salami sub, no turkey over there :( ). Cities we went to are: Zurich, Paris, Rome, Elba, Pisa, Florence. and Venice. We have lots of pictures which I will try to post soon and tell some me details.

Lame-o

Sorry for the lack of posts. Thing is is that I have become rather lame lately. We keep busy but not with much exciting. :)

Work is going good. I'm at my current place until July 9 and then who knows. I was asked if I wanted to take a spot with a school district next year but I am debating. Not sure how I would like working with disabled kids and not sure I want the drive it would be. We will see.

We leave for Europe soon. Crazy how quick it crept up. Now I'm trying to get my crap together. Plus I have the feat of not packing my whole closet, I have a hard time with that. :)

Craig has convinced me to let him redo the back yard. Ugh. Currently it is kinda hilly so he wants to take out the hill, put in a rock wall, and then build a deck (that won't come until next year). That will start when we get back from vacation.

The weather sucks here. Rainy and 60. I know I need to get used to it but I want a TAN!

I think that's all I got for now.

Vegas Baby!

This past weekend I had a girl's weekend in Vegas. It was a good time. It was my first time to vegas and I must say I don't think it's all that it's cracked up to be. I'm not a big gambler, the weather sucked (low 60s with 50-60 MPH winds) so we couldn't lay out at the pool, and I'm too old to party like I used to. :) We went to see "O" by Cirque de Sole which was awesome. It amazes me what those people can do! We ate way too much, they do have some fanatastic buffetts. We stayed up way too late and probably drank a little too much too. I would probably go back 1 more time with Craig as long as it's in the summer and I can lay out at the pool.
Here's a few pictures.

Lobby ceiling...we stayed at the Bellagio
Hanging in the hotel

Pre-party night 1

The group

Botanical gardens. This was in our hotel too. It was pretty cool, everything is made of flowers.

These were just around the halls

Night 2

Night 3. This club was crazy. Cover was $24 (which we did not pay) and in order to sit at a table you had to buy a bottle which was $500! Onoe of the girls met these guys who were buying bottles so we were hanging out with them.

Getting old sucks.

I just spent my tax rebate on blinds for our family room. How lame is that?! And it's ridiculous how much they cost. There was no blinds on the family room and kitchen when we moved in and have been dragging our feet cuz the windows are really big and hence really expensive. But we need to get them sooner or later for several reasons: 1) We have crazy neighbors who look into our window at night and open the blinds on their bathroom windon and get naked. 2) You can feel the cold air seeping in when you sit on the couch. 3) My husband is a paranoid freak and thinks people are watching us all the time. 4) I can't walk around the house naked ;)

I finally went to a hematologist for my bleeding thing and it was very frustrating. It was a waste of time and money. He walked in and told me it's very rare and he doesn't know much about it so had just looked it up. He couldn't answer any of my questions and referred me to a hemophillia clinic in seattle. Who knows if they will even know what to do since I don't have hemophillia. You couldn't have read the referral before hand and seen that you dont know how to treat it and saved me my $50 co-pay and 2 hours unpaid off work??!!! But yet he drew 8 vials of blood. Why when you know nothing about it? I'm trying to be responsible and be aware of what complications my blood thing could give me but results like today make me feel like I shouldn't bother.

When did I get so boring? We went to dinner last night and were home by 9:00!!! Man I suck! i have been busy doing non-exciting stuff. So busy in fact that every weekend in booked now thru the end of April. :(

So I cut my hair and wish I didn't. Sorry for the lack of pictures Laura, it was a little longer (past my shoulders) and darker than the pictures from our honeymoon. I was unsure if I wanted it shorter for sure but went for it anyway. Now it's about hairline length in back and angled forward (couple inches past chin in front). Goodbye the days of being able to just throw it up in a ponytail. :( Oh well, it's just hair and grows.

Funny story: I called my grandparents last weekend and my grandma asks if I am trying to get pregant. No way! I ask her who told her that and she says one of my aunts but isn't sure which one. So I send Amy to investigate. Turns out my aunt Barbara read a comment on Amy's blog from Laura Sparks that said "no baby yet" and she assumed "Laura" was me saying I wasn't preggo yet. LOL! Whoops. Amy set them all straight for me.

The In-laws Strike Again

Craig's dad mailed him some stuff the other day. As we are reading the note with it I notice it says "Give LIBBY a hug for me." Hello??!!! Libby! Libby is Craig's ex-girlfriend who he lived with but they broke up 6 or 7 years ago. I thought he may be joking but Craig said no way. He calls him and nope, he wasn't joking. Who does that?! He's not that old (he's younger than my dad). Was he drunk or something? Craig thinks it's funny, me not so much. They are coming up on sunday (yes, happy 1st valentine's day to me, don't ask) and I am curious to see what he says. I am considering wearing a name tag that says "Hi, My name is Laura (not Libby)" What do you think?

I know, I've been slacking. Not too much exciting here.

We went to Craig's boss's house to watch the superbowl on sunday. It was good times. Her and her husband and fun to hang out with, just a little akward since she is his boss.

Other than that pretty much the same old going out to dinner and such.

We aren't doing anything for valetine's day. I hate the crowds and long waits so we are just gonna stay home.

Craig is going to Savannah in a couple weeks for work.

What else? I am thinking about cutting my hair. It's past my shoulders which is long for me but am thinking about cutting it into a short inverted cut. I keep going back and forth. I like now that I can put it up if I dont feel like drying it but at the same time I am bored with it. We will see I guess.

Well that's all I got for now. Sorry I am boring. :)
