Turkey Day

Sorry for the lack of posts I've just been so busy between getting ready for the holidays, painting/moving, wedding planning, etc I feel like I have no time to breathe!

House is going well. We painted the family room (still needs another coat even though we've done 1 of primer and 2 paint and some touch ups), are currently working on the office (craig and his damn 2 tone room is making it a bitch) and the living/dining room, and trying to decide on a color for the kitchen and master. I know, I need to post pictures and I will one of these days. We are trying to sell craig's couch. It's a very nice couch it just doesn't go with what we have and he doesn't have a matching loveseat or chair either. Getting adjusted to living with another person, let alone a boy. I've been living alone since my last year at tech so it's a change.

Wedding planning is going ok. We found a spot we really like but neither or us cares for the food/beverage manager who we would have to work a lot with. You ask him a question and he gives you a totally round about answer! And I'm not convinced that you can really fit the 100+ people we anticipate on the balcony for the ceremony. He says that you can only after I say about 100 and then he says "yeah that should fit out here." When you look at the picture I count about 80 chairs and it looks like a tight fit. I'm ok with if we have over 100 some having to stand but I want at least though 100 sitting, and not on top of each other!

Thanksgiving was good. We went to the in-laws of course. His family is cool and the food was good but sometimes I just run out of things to say. They sit there and talk about people they know and I have no clue who they are talking about. The ladies sit in one room and talk so I go and watch football with the men but worry that I am viewed as anti-social then. I don't know them too well and only have so much to say. It's fine when craig is in the room but when he's not I lack conversation. Plus sleeping on the floor which leads to a sore back and tiredness doesn't help much...

This next weekend we have my work x-mas party on friday and his on saturday. I think we may skip mine as last year it was super long and extremely mind numbing. HIs should be fun excact the girls he works with always give me dirty looks.

I haven't gotten too far with xmas shopping, in fact I have bought nothing. Craig and I have decided to not exchange gifts as we have no money. I keep asking my mom and sister for ideas and they have given me nothing. At this point they are going to get nothing because I have 1 day a week I can mail things and there are only 2 of those days left so without suggestions I have nothing to buy. ;)

Anyhow, I'll try to post some pictures soon. My patient is here so I better get going.

Finally

Things are coming along here. Worked all week, I'm starting to feel in need of a vacation. Friday night we had an exciting night of getting dinner at Red R0bbin then going to h0me dep0t to buy a washer and get paint samples. (exciting I know) I think we have decided on colors for the family room and accent wall in the living/dining rooms. Hopefully they look good! I think we are going to attempt to paint next weekend so once that's done I'll post pics. Saturday we got my ring fixed. It's hard to get off my knuckle (I have giant knuckles)and since I have to take it on/off a lot for work I wanted it a little bigger. Well the jewler decided to just make it flat on the bottom in hopes that it would come off easier. Now it fits even worse. Ugh! I am going to try to bear with it for a couple weeks but now it feels tight all over. After that we bought a lawnmower and ran errands. That evening I went to dinner with my friend Alicia and then met up with Craig and some of his friends. The day ended crappy though. I got a statement from my old apartment that says I'm responsible for the rent through the remainder of my lease (march). This isn't what I had agreed to, I had signed a thing that I would pay a settlement of 1.5 months rent but when I turned in my keys they didn't ask for it. Grrr. Fricking apt has been such a pain in my butt. Then we took my car to the 2nd bar we went to and I got a parking ticket (actually Craig was the one driving). He parked in a pay to park lot but none of us saw the sign. Grrr. Everything sucking up my money. Anyhow here are a couple pictures that Craig's dad took of the house. Inside ones will come once we get things painted and such.

Outside view.

Us in front of the house. Don't mind that I look Asian. :( We'll blame it on lack of sleep?

slacker

I have been slacking I know. We got all moved this past weekend (for which we owe dana nd josh HUGE thanks). The house is somewhat in order but the garage looks like a tornado went through. Criag's family came up on saturday (parents, sister, nieces, aunt/uncle, cousins, and grandpa). Let's just say I was less than enthused being we just moved on friday and being that there was going to be little kids running around having to get things in somewhat of an order that quickly was a little rough. But it all worked out ok and they were nice enough to bring the food and all that good stuff. This weekend we are going to try to pick out some paint colors, buy a washer and lawn mover, and continue to organize. Sorry no pictures yet, I'm not sure just where my camera cord ended up.

I hope you're sitting down

Craig and I got engaged yesterday!! Here's the story...Craig wanted to go for a hike at Mt. Rainer saturday. I was a litte suspicious because he does not hike but I thought that maybe since I always complain about it that he was trying to do something that I like to do. Anyhow, the road to the hike he had selected (leads to a suspension bridge and glacier) was closed so we chose a different one in the area that leads to a waterfall and lake. For the most part it was very easy but at the end it was uphill and I was starting to think that he was going to have a heartattack. We get to the waterfall to have lunch (he was too tired to attempt to make it to the lake) and he hugs me and starts talking about the house and how much he loves me and how he never thought he would find a girl like me and all that jazz (as he is sweating bullets everywhere, very romantic huh? lol). At this point I knew what was coming and he gets down on 1 knee and pulls out a ring box and asks me to marry him. Of course I say yes.

We were both wanting to get engaged before we closed on the house but I had decided that it just wasn't going to happen. We close on wednesday so it worked out great! He custom designed the ring himself, the pictures don't do it justice. I guess he's been working on it for 2 months and it finally was finished on tuesday. Anyhow, he's some pics of us in front of the waterfall and the ring. Unfortunatly I don't know how to use to self timer so I didn't get any of the 2 of us. :(

winter is here :(

Judging by the rainy, cold, windy weather outside I would best guess that winter is here. :( I hate winter!

Nothing too exciting here. This weekend we went out for Dana's b-day on friday. I ran into a few friends that I haven't seen in a long time so that was fun. Saturday we went to a wedding of Craig's co-worker. That was like all weddings of co-workers but at least this one had good food and free beer. :) Sunday we ran a few errands and then vegged on the couch and watched football.

Last week Amy was here to visit. We didn't do anything overly exciting. She's been here a few times so has seen most of the sights. One of these times we'll take her up to mt. rainer, there's just not a ton to do up there at this time of year.

I keep telling myself that I need to get packing but somehow then convince myself that that I need to use my stuff this next week and put it off longer. I think next week I may be running around like a mad man. Luckily Dana and Josh are the bestest people ever and are going to help us move! Josh tells us just to remember this when they need help and they live on the 3rd floor, ugh!

Big news

No not the news that you are all hoping for but instead Craig and I bought a house! We haven't closed yet but inspection and all that went well so really it's just a sit and wait game. I have no pictures but am hoping to drive by one of these days and take a couple.

Otherwise we have been pretty boring. I guess that's what happens when you drop all that money. lol. Haven't done much other than going out to dinner and such. Next weekend Amy will be here to visit and then the weekend after that we have a wedding. I'm finally done with my 50 hr weeks. The money is nice but I definately need a little break. We seem to be in fall for sure now here, grey and rainy every day. Blah. I'm starting to wonder what I am thinking dooming myself to grey skies and rain everyday. Haha. The things I do for that boy. ;)

Well hopefully I'll get some pictures soon. I'm sure Amy will want to drive by and see it. When I get them I will post a couple.
