I saw my dr monday afternoon and was already 5cm and 100% effaced so he figured my labor would go quickly. I got to the hospital around 12 am 2/8. They had to do some bloodwork before they started the pitocin so that finally got started around 2:30 or 3 am. I started contracting regularly but no progress otherwise. By 8:30 they had increased to pitocin from 1 to 9 but still not much happening. My dr wasn't there yet so one of his collegues came in and broke my water which brought me to 6cm and increased the frequency and intensity of the contractions. My contractions continued to increase but no further dilation. Somewhere in there they gave me some blood product for my bleeding since my numbers had dropped yet again. I had a shot of phetnol somewhere in there but it didn't touch my pain. Around 11 I decided I needed an epidural. Well the anestiologist was being a butt and refused to give me one because of my bleeding issues and risk of complications. They had to call my hematologist and he had to send a letter sating it would be fine and I had to sign some special release (at that point I think I would have signed anything). They gave me another shot of phetnol but again nothing. I finally got an epidural 4 hrs later around 3, I was not a happy camper. IN the meantime they had put my in the tub to try to get my body to relax some. My whole body was shaking like crazy, I could barely stand, my contractions were coming so hard and fast that it wasn't allowing me to dilate further (was stuck at 7 I think). After I got the epidural I went pretty quickly from 7cm to 9.5cm. Once I started feeling pressure they had me start pushing and 20-25 min later there he was. He came out with his arm over his neck so was blue, instead of Craig getting to cut the cord the dr had to do it and they wisked him off. He started breathing pretty quick and all is good there.
We came home yesterday around 1. So far it's been tiring but pretty awesome. Saw the pediatrition today and Logan is down to 6 lb 10 oz.
Anyhow, here are a few pics. :)
