Wedding recap

We got our pictures from the photographer. There's some good ones but we are a little frustrated with her. Long story that I don't have time to explain now...maybe later.

Anyhow, for a recap. I woke up saturday morning to rain. :( The 19th was surrounded by a bunch of days of beautiful weather but of course that day it rained. The say it's good luck but not so much when you are getting married outside if you ask me. We headed to the salon to get our hair done. By the time we were done there the sky was blue. But as we drove west to the wedding sit it got darker and wetter. :( We set a few things up in the reception area and Amy & Dana did their makeup. By then everyone was there and it was time to get dressed. We cracked open some champagne, did a toast, and started the day.

Here's a few pictures to get you started. :)

Honeymoon pictures

Here's a bunch of pictures fom Aruba.

Craig & I in front of hotel

Helicopter ride

Us at dinner

We rented a jeep and drove around the island. The west side is all sandy beaches and the east is rocky. There's caves, gold mine ruins, and rocky cliffs on east side of island. 90% of Aruba is catholic. There's a church that's the 1st on the island brought over from Holland, it's about 4 pews!

Pictures from the helicopter ride. The 1st is one of our hotel from the air.

We're baaack

We got back from Aruba wednesday and I've had to work the last 2 days. :( Aruba was fantastic! Neither of us wanted to come home. We did lots of fun stuff including relaxing on the beach, renting a jeep and driving around the island, massages, snorkling and catamaran, and a helicopter ride. We had some camera issues so didn't get a ton of pictures but I'll post some hopefully this weekend.

The wedding was great! Everything went well, we were a little worried about rain as it was a little gray and misty but it held out for us. No major issues, biggest being my bustle was broken, one of the groomsmen's cars broke down on the way to rehersal so he didn't make to the rehersal, and the minister showed up at about 5:29 when the wedding was supposed to start at 5:30! Otherwise things went great. The food was good, the flowers were beautiful, the DJ did a great job, the room looked great, the photographer was a little subpar but that's a whole different story. I'll post some pictures when I get them from the photographer.

Yikes!

Only 1 more week to go! Crazy! Right now the weather is iffy...one channel says sun, another says rain. Who knows! Weather forecast here changes all the time anyhow. I keep telling Craig that if it rains next weekend he's in trouble since he picked the date and this weekend it's sunny and 80.

Anyhow, on the guestbook table we are going to have a picture of each of us as babies and then our parents' and grandparents' wedding picture. Here's one of my dad's parents. They were married in 1928! On the back it says: Man: eyes brown, hair dark brown, com. fair, Drape dark. Lady: eyes brown, hair brown, com. fair, drape white, flower white.

recaps

Lots has been going on here. I had my bachelorette party a few weeks ago in Portland. It was a lot of fun. We had a spa day (so nice!) and then went to the hotel to pre-party and then headed out to the bars. We all had a good time (a little too good of time for some ;)) and several of my girlfriends with kids were able to get a night away.

We went down to his parents for the weekend one of these past few wknds because they wanted to see us before we got married. Since we are going to be different people and all afterwards and don't have a ton of stuff to get done. Don't get me started. :)

This weekend the weather was awful! Thunder and lightening which never happens here.

Saturday we had to go to the jewelry store to get some changes made to my engagement ring. It has a wide band and is built up and I love it by itself but it just doesn't look right with my wedding band. So the jeweler is going to narrow the band slightly and take the height down a little, he can't do it quite as much as we want because it will weaken the prongs. So nice that he does it all right in his shop. Hopefully it will look better together now.

Saturday night we went the the Rainers (the minor league baseball team in tacoma) game with a couple friends. It was fun but a little wet.

The rest of the weekend was spent doing things around the house and getting the remaining wedding stuff done. I think I have just about everything done for the wedding. Craig's task has been to clean the garage. When we moved he didn't bother to go through anything and just dumped things into boxes so we've had boxes of his junk sitting in our garage for the past 11 months. Drives me crazy!! We have cabinet space in there but with all his crap blocking them they aren't being used at all and our garage looks like a tornado went through! At least he made a little progress but still has lots to do.

This coming weekend is his bachelor party. He is going down to Portland so they can go to strip clubs (you aren't allowed to drink in strip clubs in WA but can in OR). His best-man is in town from Switzerland so he is heading down on friday to hang out with him. I'm just going to relax and enjoy the house to myself. I have a hair appt and may go to the seahawks game with some girlfriends. Otherwise just getting last minute stuff done since people start getting in town on wed!

Hair Trial

I had my hair trial this morning. I was debating between partially down and up but was concerned my hair is not quite long enough for down. The girl who is doing it thought that up was better. Here's what she came up with, ignore the bangs as they really need to be cut and the bobby pins that are sticking out. What do you think?

yay!

My mom called and told me yesterday that my Grandma and Aunt Barb are going to be able to come to my wedding! Yay! My grandma has never been on a plane, never! Can you believe that?! Originally my grandma didn't think she would be able to come because she didn't want to leave my grandpa home alone and my grandpa won't leave the dog alone. But I guess now they got it figured out so my uncle will check on my grandpa. :)

This weekend we went to the Mariner's game. It was a nice sunny day and they won for once. We even got in for free because as we were going to buy tickets some guy offered us 2 tickets for free. Score!

This weekend is my bachlorette party. We are going to Portland for a spa day and then out on the town. Should be a good time and hopefully nobody will get too crazy. :)
