Here's a couple pics that I took with my phone at the Mariner's game.

I had a nice productive weekend and feel like I got lots done for once. The sun was out all weekend for an added bonus. Craig saw on the news that this is the 1st memorial weekend in 30yrs where all 3 days were sunny and over 65!

Saturday I spent doing yardwork (5 hrs to be exact). Craig thinks that yardwork only involves mowing the grass and doesn't include pulling weeds, raking, etc. So I spent all day doing just that. I raked under the trees, pulled weeds until our bin was overfull, hooked up the pond motor, removed dead grass, moved rocks, and more. I didn't mind since the sun was out. My gluts were sore from all the squatting the next day though. Lol.

Sunday we went to the mariner's game with some friends and then went and had dinner by the water. It was nice to enjoy the sunshine and a few beverages. The mariners even won for once!

Monday I repainted the hallway, luckily the paint matched this time. I also did some laundry, housecleaning, washed my car, and grocery shopping. All sorts of fun stuff. Lol.

This week I have to work all week again. Tomorrow morning I am going to meet with the lady where we are getting married. Since we booked the site the lady who we were working with no longer works there so I want to meet the new one and ask some questions. Hopefully we'll find out what time we can have the rehersal at and what time we can be there the day of the wedding. They have friday night and saturday afternoon weddings that we may have to work around but hopefully not. It will suck if we have to wait for a 3:00 wedding to get over before we can set anything up. Exciting. Just under 4 months to go...

hello hello

Amy gave you the recap of the wedding so I'll leave you with that. It was a fun but exhausting weekend, as expected. I told Craig at least he got reduced hrs at work (32). I had to do all the traveling plus still work my 40 hrs both weeks. :) I'll try to post some pictures this weekend.

We were supposed to go to his sister's cabin in southern WA for the long weekend but have decided to cancel. We have TONS of stuff to do around home and it seems like we have something going on every weekend. Plus he's been traveling a lot for work so he doesn't feel much like driving all weekend too. So this weekend our fun list includes yardwork, painting the hallway since my 2nd can of paint didn't match the 1st can (grrrr), cleaning house, laundry, washing windows, finalizing guest list (wish me luck on this one), seeing if Kink0s can print our programs, etc. I doubt that we will get much of it done but at least we (or should I say me) are motivated. Hope you all have a safe and fun memorial weekend.

Shoes

Oh I almost forgot...I think I've found wedding shoes! They arrived yesterday. I think they are super cute. It's the 2nd pair of shoes I ordered, the first said it was satin but when they showed up they were this metallic material and kinda ugly. Here the ones I think I'm gonna be wearing...that is unless I find some I like better. Lol.

Update

Thanks for all the advice on the invite dilemma. I agree with what you are all saying, it's just getting him to believe the same thing... For now I've decided to let it rest for awhile.

This weekend was busy as usual. Never enough time to get everything done that I need to get done. Saturday I had to go to a jewelry party of a friend. She invites me to all sorts of things and I never go so I felt like I kinda had to this time. Problem is she always has things in the middle of the day (this one was at 2:00) and she lives in the middle of nowhere so it takes me and hr to get there. So that sucked up my entire day Saturday. I didn't buy anything, not really my type of jewelry. Saturday night we had dinner at a place we are considering for our rehearsal dinner. Nice place right on the water with a great view but sub par food. We'll see, hopefully we can find someplace different though. Afterwards we just rented a movie and came home cuz I was exhausted.

Sunday we went to a friend of his mom's photo exhibit. She told me his mom invited her to my bridal shower and asked if it was ok if she came. I'm a little annoyed by this since I had asked his mom if she wanted anyone invited and she said no. I would have no problem inviting these ladies but it annoys me that she told me she didn't have anyone and then goes behind my back and invites people on her own. She's not the one throwing the shower for me, my co-workers are. Anyhow, afterwards we came home and I did yard work until our bin was full and had to stop and then cleaned up around the house.

This coming weekend we are headed back to MN for my brother's wedding. Should be fun but will be exhausting! We leave here at 7:30 am friday which means getting up at like 4:30. Ugh! Then we get back monday night at like 9pm and then have to work the rest of the week. Hopefully I'll have some pictures to post next week though.

Invite dilema

So I need some advice here girls. When we first started planning our wedding I wanted something small (I was originally telling reception places 75 people). Craig wanted something bigger so I agreed to 125 max without a fight. He made his invite list and then talked to his mom. Once he got her list his was about double. We got in an argument and finally he agreed to cut some people out. He thinks that he needs to invite everyone from his past to the wedding, even if he hasn't talked to them in 10 years! It's just crazy to me. When it came time to order invites he told me 125 should be more than enough. So I order 125, that's over 250 people. A couple weeks ago I was making the master list and yep we were over the 125 invites we have. I only have 55, most of who are family since I have a really big family. So we sat down and I asked who people are on his list (come to find out that's me "having a death grip on our wedding"). All I was trying to do was help him figure out who he could cut. He has people who he talks to maybe once a year on there that he worked with 5 yrs ago. To me these people are easily cut out. Or people who if they get an invite that leads to 5 other people getting invites--gone in my mind. People understand if they don't get invited to a wedding, no one will be angry. Or eliminate the "and guest" for single people (this idea is absolutely absurd to him). Nope I am wrong. It doesn't matter that I want I small wedding, that I've already compromised on the number of people for him. It doesn't matter that we only have 125 invites, a number that he told me to order mind you. It doesn't matter that I never wanted something like this but am doing it for him. All that matters is he wants more people invited. He wants to not send his family invites and EMAIL the other people. Tacky if you ask me and pretty sure his family wants them as a keepsake. And I don't want 150 couples invited and with hope that there's still less than 125 that come.

What do I do? All that matters to me is that he's there. That we are making this commitment to spend the rest of our lives with each other. That our family and best friends, the people we love the most, are there. Who cares about all the other people. This wedding is way larger than I ever wanted, if I had my way we would be on a beach in Jamaica. We only have so many invites. None of that matters to him. He's so selfish, about anything we disagree on. If I don't just give in to what he wants it turns into an argument. I don't think he knows what compromise is anymore. So what do I do. Do I let him email invites out? Do I cut out even more of my people so he can invite people he hasn't talked to in years? Do I give in and say screw it and end up with 300 people at my wedding?

WTF

The company I work for is always talking about how great they are doing in "these tough ecomonic times." Well then if they are doing so great why are they cutting their contribution to my 401K to nothing?! As it was they had a pretty crappy match of 50% to the first 5% I put in but now nothing?! Why don't they cut all the bonuses my manager gets (he got a year end of over $25,000 last year) or some of the stupid trips they pay for him to go on (in the past year he's gone to boston, vegas, san jose, san francisco, portland, and many others)? I know I am lucky to still have a job but it's very frustrating when they talk about how great the company is doing and then still make cuts. Especially when the higher ups have all sorts of added expenses but none of them get cut. Grrrrrr.
