busy busy

I've been busy as usual and unfortunately lacking on blogging. Sorry.

Last weekend we went down to Portland to see Lis@ L@mpinelli who was HILLARIOUS. A little raunchy and racist but still super funny. Craig's sister and BIL met us there and went to the show with us. We also enjoyed the tax free shopping. :) We didn't find much to buy but I did get a new pair of white Paige jeans and we bought a little giant ladder (very exciting I know). The weather was fantastic for once as well.

This weekend wasn't too exciting and it has been cold and rainy. Ran some errands and then got dinner with Dana on saturday. For easter we went to a friend of Craig's parents. It was fun but a long way to drive just to eat and then turn around and drive home if you ask me. Plus we just saw his family last weekend so...

In other fun news my wedding dress is in!!! I'm going today at noon to try it on. Very exciting. And the bridesmaid dresses are in too so I'll get to see those.

Otherwise I think I have been pretty boring. Next weekend I have a class all weekend so I will be super lame.

Weekend recap

Friday: Amy got here so her, Craig and I went to this little burger place that Craig raves about. They have awesome shakes but I was a little disappointed in the burger. Regardless I ate way too much. Afterwards we just went home and watched a movie, I was tired from working all day.

Saturday: Amy and I went shopping during the day. I bought a new pair of K@ate Sp@de sunglasses (but they were on sale, right?), a pair of uggz (purchased with my b-day money from craig's parents), and a couple of shirts. I spent too much but justify it in that I haven't bought any clothes in quite a while and I've been working lots of overtime so it's ok, right? Not like I should save it for say a wedding or a trip to MN or things around the house. LOL. That night we met up with a couple friends for dinner at my favorite Thai place and then went to a tex-mex place for drinks. It was fun to hang out. I'm so upset though, I had a curry chicken for dinner and they put my leftovers in a paper box. Problem is it that it has a creamy sauce and soaked right thru the box so there goes my leftovers. So sad.

Sunday: Sunday was my bday so I had a nice relaxing day. Craig made us breakfast and then we proceeded to lay on the couch all day. He got me an ip0d N@n0 for my b-day which was awesome since my mini has been busted for about a year now but I cont to try to use it.

Monday: I worked yet another day of OT but it's my last for a few weeks at least. Then I went to the gym for a much needed workout after my long weekend of eating junnk and doing nothing. And finally I came home and did laundry and cleaned since I neglected that all weekend.

Now it's just another week of work. Nothing else exciting going on. Craig has something planned for the 2 of us for my bday this coming weekend so I'm excited to see what that is. :)

And the winner is

We finally decided on where to go for our honeymoon. I was starting to think that we would never find a place to go. Craig wanted to do the Caribbean because he's never been there but it's hurricane season. I've been there so it didn't matter much to me. I want to go to Greece but Craig insists that 1.5 wks is not enough time and that we can do it next year (which I very highly doubt will happen). His best friend lives in Switzerland and I think Craig just wants to go when he can see him (he will be here for our wedding and I said I am not hanging out with his buddy for our honeymoon). We threw around tahti, fuji, cook islands but they are all crazy expensive. And we considered Hawaii but I was just there last year and he's been there too and it's just so not exciting. Sooo we decided to risk it and do aruba. I booked the trip this weekend and we will be staying at an all-inclusive resort that's a branch of the marriott. Luckily since it is hurricane season prices are really good. They say since it's so far south that hurricanes rarely hit it. Now lets just hope that holds true for '09 (or if one has to let it at least wait until october). :)

lil' of this, lil' of that

I don't have too much to write about, just figured I'd better update this a little. I've had a cold all week and it sucks, I don't feel like doing anything. Craig was at his parent's last night and today for his dad's semi-annual poker tourny. He comes home tonight and we are supposed to go to a party of one of his co-worker's. Not gonna lie, I'm not too enthused.

Last weekend we went to dinner and a movie for valetine's day. We never go to movies so that was fun. I just hate paying $20 for a movie that isn't good, might as well wait 2 months and pay $5. We saw T@ken which was actually pretty good though.

Wedding stuff is coming along. I think we have all the big things done so now it kinda a dead period. It's nice to have a little break from it all.

Here are finally a couple pictures of the house! Yes I know there is nothing on the walls but we are still looking for some art/area rugs/accessories/etc. We still haven't painted the kitchen, I have the can of paint sitting there but haven't found the motivation to put it on the walls. lol.

Bridesmaid dress

Finally here's the link to the bridesmaid dresses I've chosen. If the right color doesn't come up it's espresso dress with fuschia band.

where does the time go?

Why do weekends go so fast? I feel like I barely left work on friday and now here I am back.

This weekend we didn't do much exciting. Got dinner on friday, ran errands on saturday and sunday, went out for drinks with dana and josh saturday night. We did buy a new tv which is very exciting. Our house has a cutout above the fireplace for the tv (dumbest idea ever if you ask me) and it's so small that we had been using my old 20". Craig complains all the time because he can't see it. So this weekend we bought a new 40" s@amsung which we can mount above the fireplace with a little engineering to put some beams across the cutout. It is exciting but took FOREVER to go between the couple of stores we were looking at. For now we have it set up on my old coffee table and Craig is very excited.

Sorry, there isn't any pictures online of the place we are getting married. It's at a golf course and the ceremony is at an outdoor gazebo that looks over a lake and then the reception is inside the clubhouse with an outdoor patio. So everyone must pray for good weather on sept 19! It's a risk to count on no rain in seattle but people say september usually has good weather so we will hope. My dress is going to remain a secret but here is the bridesmaid dress that I am leaning towards.(looks like my work computer won't let me post it so I will try to do it laster from home) It is a tea-length halter, chocolate brown with a fuscia accent.

update

I have a headache. I don't want to be here, I want to go home and climb into my bed. But since I'm stuck at work with no patient I might as well give you something to read. :)

I've been busy working, wedding planning, and painting the house.

We are almost done painting the downstairs with just the kitchen and possibly the entryway left. Why is it taking so long you ask? Because Craig is the world's WORST painter. I don't get what he does but it comes out all streaky. So he tries to help and it ends up making more work for me because then I have to give it yet another coat. And since the blue tape sucks I need to touch up along the base boards and straighten my wobbly line along the ceiling. We have quite the colorful downstairs with a burnt orange family room, mustard yellow bathroom, a purplish grayish blueish living/dining room, and a grey and crimson office. We are going to do the kitchen a mocha color and maybe the entry way a chocolate brown. I think it looks great, especially since I hate white walls from living in apartments for so many years now.

Wedding planning is going fine, I'm just sick of it consuming all my time and the lack of help I get. I have a ceremony/reception site booked, my dress ordered, bridesmaid dresses down to 2 picks, dj and photographer booked, and meeting with a florist tomorrow. Now for all the not fun stuff like centerpieces, invites, favors, programs, etc. yuck!

Otherwise I am fairly lame. Had a friend's b-day party last weekend. This weekend Craig's cousin and his wife are coming to visit and I think we are going to drag them bowling with some of our other friends. I don't quite understand how when he lived alone for the past 5 years not a one of them came up here but now that we bought a house they can't seem to get enough.
